Jashn-E-Bahaara...

Well, my last post was quite a long time ago. I just cannot stick to my plan of posting every weekend for no reason other than laziness :( I think I'll have to dust it off quickly lest my blog starts stagnating.

Some things that have happened (or not happened) since then:

1> No reply from any other university yet...C'mon people, don't make me wait so long. Especially TAMU, that had said my decision would be conveyed by mid-February.

2> My workload at office is rising exponentially: since my team has become smaller now and the on-site people have stopped contributing, that they used to do earlier.
A fortnight ago, when I visited a dermatalogist for some reason, she was shocked to see my tired swollen face. She complained that I looked even older than her with dark circles under my eyes! Oh Crap! I will really have to start looking after my health now.

3> And Ya! We had a fun-event last Saturday, organized by our HR personnel at office. We had a cricket match, replete with commentary and in a stadium, somewhat like the Mumbai Harris Shield matches that I used to play for my school. But since last year, I hadnt held a bat or rolled my arms anyday. I was totally outta practice. We had a bowl first and I was the opening bowler (have to, have always been that!). I thought I bowled OK. We were set a target of 73 runs in 10 Overs.
When our batting came, we started off well. But we lost our way in the due course and when I walked in to bat, we needed 18 off 15 balls. I brought that down to 2 runs off 2 balls and everyone was pretty sure that we would make it. But alas, as luck would have it, I could not connect both the deliveries (leg byes weren't allowed) and the world came crashing down upon me! I just couldn't believe we lost after reaching so close. It was a terrible, sick feeling and I realized what Misbah-Ul-Haq would have felt when he could not finish it off for Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup against India!

4> Today was momma's birthday and unlike every year before this, I did not gift her anything in giftwraps...I thought a lot if I could find something interesting but just couldn't come up with anything. So I decided that I would take mom for a movie and dinner. We watched 'Jodhaa Akbar' and liked it, especially the dramatic camerawork...Well done Ashutosh, Hritik and of course, my dear Ash!

5> 2 of my cousins got engaged back to back on previous weekends. So I just couldn't have a lazy day. Now I have a full Sunday tomorrow and I can rest all I want and even play my guitar as much as I want! I am already practising 'Jashn-E-Bahaara' from Jodha-Akbar and 'Maa' from Taare Zameen Par...

WIll try to post more frequently now, cya dearies!
