Oh what a birthday!
8th July 2008 would be the etched in my memory forever. Never ever have I had a birthday which just zoomed by without me even realizing that it did...
12 midnight, Mom and Dad passionately wished me
12:15 a.m. got an sms from my best friend
12:30 a.m.got one more sms from another close companion, what a great start to the day!
7:30 a.m. Messages started pouring in by the hour...Bro/Bhabhi too called up and wished me.
9:45 a.m. Left for office on a high note.
10:30 a.m. Reached office to a rousing welcome from my team. It was quite unexpected... My first and last birthday with this team .
All the while in office, a variety of friends kept on wishing me - some who were with me in my training batch, some just met-somewhere-dunno-how-we-became-friends people, people from other teams in the project... Intermittently, friends from diploma college, degree college, neighborhood friends all called up.
Till evening, I lost count.
I've attached a file which is a compilation of all the people who have wished me each year, since I started logging that information in 2004. Actually, every year since then, late in the night on my birthday, I recollect all people who did wish me. You might call it a weird passion, but that's how I am. I like to know how many people truly remember me, like me and how many are just 'meet and depart' pals.Check that out [here ].
And I'm extremely happy that people whom I expected to be in the pink zone are there, though a few more would've made that even better. Still, the total number of people each year has kept a steady incline and that is satiating.
Two weeks from now, I'll be away across seven seas, far away from all these wonderful people (except my family, of course). Lesse how life goes...
